The TouchOC campaign was founded with the sole purpose of encouraging philanthropy in Orange County. Efforts focus on bringing non-profit organizations throughout Orange County together, highlighting areas of need in the community.
TouchOC helps individual donors and volunteers learn more about the great work of local nonprofits, while offering a convenient way to gain knowledge about and get involved with all Orange County nonprofit organizations participating in the campaign.
How can you TouchOC?
If one takes a deeper look at Orange County streets, health clinics, schools, senior resting homes and even beaches - there are many critical needs that are not being met in Orange County
- More than 35,000 homeless people are living in Orange County, of which 16,000 are children.
- The senior population in Orange County is expected to increase 64% by the year 2020. Currently among those 75 years of age and over, 45% have a disability and half of older adults live neglected and alone.
- Orange County's beaches are also in need of help, Doheney State Beach for example was closed seventeen times in 2006. Fifteen of these closures were for contamination reasons.
